finally, here's a painting done with all those new brush settings and tweaks I mentioned! All told I think it took me 2 days to do it. Technically it took longer what with work and such getting in the way. :)

This was fun to paint and I learned sooo much from doing it which I hope shows.

Still things I would like to improve on it. The background stumped me and I'm finding the edges of the character too hard but I'm not entirely sure why they ended up that way. some photoshop technique I'm missing doubtless. In the end I couldn't get the background anywhere near where I wanted it so I cheesed it. *slaps hand* So bad, I know. *hangs head*

Things have been busy so I won't have anything new for a bit sorry. :(
Really enjoying my new brushes. I'm hoping to eventually get some gouache techniques figured out and painted up one of these weeks. The colourb reaks on that tend to be much harsher than my norm so it would be quite the deviation for me. ;P

As always CnC is welcome ifn ya gots it.

Very Nice indeed. I like the almost Shredder/Samurai style helmet, loooks cool. Like the detailing on the half mask aswell very nicely done. Just gotta love the Sub Zero. Any chance of a Scorpion one ;) ?? lol. :+fav. ^^

Heyyy thanks! I'm really pleased with the mask detailing and it's awesome to hear the feedback! Yea Sub's one of my fav Mortal Kombat characters as well. If I had lineart for Scorpion I'd colour him in a heartbeat for ya. :)

looks pretty sweet... though i'm not too fond of this costume... looks too much like shredder from tmnt. :P i like his ninja outfit the best... mask and all. :) but nice work... excellent detail and skills.

Yeah the mask seems to be a love or hate thing for people. Heh, it's hard not to like ninja outfits. We should all dress like ninja. :P
